September engagement shoot in Riverside Park and the beautiful rooftop of their own building on the Upper West Side

John from South Carolina was planning to travel to NYC in early September with his girlfriend, and he was secretly planning to propose. I was so excited to be enlisted in this romantic secret mission! We had to reschedule at the last minute to the day before, due to reports of a hurricane that never came, but in the end the surprise went off without a hitch! We even got to meet again the following night to do a proper engagement shoot before the dinner John had planned for that evening at the River Cafe. I had been concerned that she would spot me photographing them during the proposal, but she never noticed me because she never took her eyes off him.

On one steaming hot day in early September

They look pretty happy, right? Well, they are!

Ginny & Charlie invited me to capture them ‘making it official’ in downtown Manhattan in place of an engagement shoot, and I was delighted to attend! It was great to share this special day with this playful couple that compliment each other very well.

We’ll be seeing their family nuptials and celebration in a couple of weeks. Congratulations to Ginny & Charlie!
